**Review** When we fall by Marquita Valentine
When We Fall by Marquita Valentine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the first book I have read by Marquita Valentine and I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the storyline of a rich girl loving a bad boy. Rich girl, Piper, is not that confident to let the Bad Boy, Jase, know (for many years) that she has wanted him to be in her heart and her bed. But some how magically she finds the confidents and strips herself of her Lily Pulitzer figuratively and lets him know, “Hey guy, I like you.”
Now this is a romance story, it is an insta-love, and it does fall under contemporary smut for me. Piper and Jase are the two main characters with a stellar supporting cast. Their interactions were good, the story in the beginning for me was super slow. I started reading the book on my way to Charlotte, N. C. I didn’t finish this book until today. No, this book was not written like War and Peace it is not fifty million pages long but I guess it was like War and Peace that is was slow in the beginning. It read so slow, I just was not feeling it but I trekked forward and found that I quite enjoyed the characters.
I liked Jase the most. I found him to be very real and horny. Which was awesome because Piper needs a good pounding, because of her life in general and because she is curious. Big shocker that she is… A VIRGIN. LOL. I know. It has been played before but how often do we have a convict and a virgin, (if you see a book with that let me know because that was hot) and this is where it went from contemporary to SMUT.
Just likes Drake’s song 0-100 real quick.
So Jase was so getting it in (having lots of dirty time) with Piper and she was an eager beaver.
The story itself there are some oh and girl what moments. Then is some major drama in this book that is carried over from Book (1) one and I did not find the climax to be very good. Not talking about the sex (sex was good) but the overall oh my moment that is the climax of the story was a little weak for me.
Now I loved that I was in Charlotte and was reading about it. Loved that there is a HEA. That made me feel good about the story even more.
I think I can predict book (3) three. I think it will be about the cop and the chick on the side of the road. It was a pivotal point in the book for me and it was mentioned again later in the book, when I had undoubtedly forgot about them. So it could happen.
Overall, it was good. It was great book for people interested in smut but who are too nervous to cross over into it. Marquita can write about some men, she did a really good job with that in this book. They [the men] were all good in this book.
Something you may not know, I always try to find the title of the book in the story. The author placed this information at towards the end of this book. So happy hunting.
Happy reading and writing.

The Best Laid Plains review
Best Laid Plans by Stylo FantomeMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Genre: Adult, Erotica, Suspense
Rating: 4/5
Steam level: 3.75/5
Main characters: Lily (carrier) and Marc (Mercenary)
Synopsis:
THE PLAN:
* Smuggle diamonds from Liberia to Morocco
* Make the trip in three days
* Don't get caught
* Don't kill each other
* Don't have sex with each other
* Don't fall for each other
* Stick to the plan
This is the story of what happens when an unlikely bond is formed between enemies, causing tensions to rise, and igniting a chemistry that threatens to burn them both. Together, they'll learn that sometimes even the best laid plans can fail.
Did I enjoy?: Yes.
Brief review: I am not a reader of mysteries and suspense. Usually when I come across this in books it is unexpected. I knew going in to this book that there was going to be some intrigue and that I would have to pace myself.
The book really captivated me with the description of the location and the characters and the supporting cast. It was really visual and just POPPED off the page for me. I especially enjoyed the disclaimer at the beginning of the book. Stylo did a great job letting the reader know it is fiction.
The author really helped me cherish Lily. I was in awe of her strength and her determination. She was independent and did not need anyone, until Marc ruined everything.
Marc is rugged, rough, and dominating. I love a dominate man. His present was known to all. When I think of him, I see people parting to make a path for him. Stylo introduced him to me so casually. Oh and by the way, *He’s a mercenary. He can do anything and will always get his way.* I swoon.
The chemistry in this book was off the chain. The action was great. I love fighting scenes, especially with Lily. The suspense, well I was more like “can we get to it all ready. I need to know the ending, like now.” I was so impatient with that. The bam-bam, well I was more like, "let’s read that scene again.” Or, “Oooh, he is a GOD in the bedroom. He can do that, and get her to do WHAT!? Give me more.”
Overall, the book is well written. The development and the storyline was very smooth. I felt like I was present in the book. It was written like my friend was telling me a story, I just really enjoyed it. Again, I am not big on mystery. Because of a certain book, Torre and Black Lies, I have not read it yet because of all the talk.
I will not give anything way with this book. I will just say that if you enjoy Stylo’s writing and how she makes her females lead, and they do lead well, then you will enjoy this book.
Happy Reading.

Review of 3 little mistakes "Self Stem (get a sex toy) needed"
Three Little Mistakes by Nikki SloaneMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Slow for me in the beginning. I know it was do to me looking for Logan and Evie and Payton and Dom. But I found them, some sooner than others but they were there. This made me content and the calming reading began.
This book was fabulous!
Genre: Erotica
Series: Yes and so very GREAT
Rating: 5/5
Steam level: 4.75/5
Main characters: Joseph Monsato (owner of Blindfold Club) and Noemi Rosso (Newbie but natural submissive)
Synopsis:
I sell sex, sin, and pleasure, but it isn’t just my business, it’s my entire life. I get off on the power of controlling it all.
She’s the one woman I can’t have.
She threatens everything, and yet I can’t stay away. There’s a beautiful, sexual creature inside this timid girl that’s desperate to claw its way out. I’m going to set it free, even if it brings my empire tumbling down.
I have to believe she’ll be worth all the little mistakes I’ve made.
Did I enjoy?: Yes. I will be reading this book again, soon.
Brief review:
I will start by saying that this author came out with a bang with the Three Little series. She is dominating the scene and I am so happy that I am reading her books. I am so happy that my little thoughts of such naughty things have made it to e-readers everywhere. I have never shared any of my nymphomaniac thoughts but when Nikki put them on paper, I was singing and fan girl dancing.
The story basically picks up where it left of in book #2, which is so dope and a must read. So we get to get a more in depth look into the master (I mean for-real he is a master of my mind and body. And so very hot) mind of “The Blindfold Club”. I like that when Joseph wants something he doesn’t have to beg he just looks at you and you submit. Sweet doggie-style this book was so spoken hot.
I love the age difference, I love that she is a submissive and doesn’t know it. I love that he loves her and he can’t control that and he loves to control everything. I love that the characters we loved from book 1 and 2 are present in this tale, even if it is only briefly.
The development was so smooth throughout except in the beginning, I really felt like the story was a little choppy. But it sorted itself out. I loved that also.
This book is a total self-stem book. You need to get a good toy and ease the ache from reading this or you will be giving yourself orgasm denial.
Once you read those hot scenes, you will need to take a self-stem break.
Happy Reading.

Sugar Baby Beautiful by J.J. McAvoy My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Sugar Baby Beautiful by J.J. McAvoyMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Genre: Contemporary really hot. Kind of contemp-rotica (just made it up)
Series: No
Rating: 4.5/5
Steam level: 4/5
Main characters: Theodore Darcy (Billionaire) and Felicity Harper (hustler)
Synopsis:
When twenty-four-year-old Felicity Harper is dragged to a sugar party, an event where wealthy men and women seek “companionship,” she never expects this one simple decision to drastically change her whole life. Her past is nothing but broken dreams and heartache. Her present is detached and dull. And her future? Well, before meeting Theodore Darcy, the famed film director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment, she would have expected more of the same. Love is just a fantasy and she wants no part of it—even if she can’t deny the undeniable attraction between the two of them.
So their arrangement is simple: sex with no strings attached.
But as their intimacy becomes more powerful, so do Felicity’s demons. Can Theo really shoulder her past and his own? And could Felicity even let him?
Did I enjoy?: Yes. I will be reading this book again, soon.
Brief review:
Great surprising book. I have read all that J.J. writes and this was just another book I am happy to have and re-read.I loved how this book just made me say WOW.
This book touches are some great topics and encompasses love and true devotion.
The sex is so hot. The detail in the book is good. I loved the supporting characters and the development.
J.J. made me want to be Felicity’s BFF. I just wanted to chill with her. She made sailors want her and the coldest actor accept her. She redefined what a no strings attached relationship is, solely because she had that “good-good” and made Theo (Billionaire) fall in love with her.
J.J. is really making me seek out Sugar Parties locally. I mean come on, all acts of fiction partially come from non-fiction experiences. Felicity had several smoking experiences. This book will make you hot and steamy.
You will need to have a good pillow, book, and sex toy. Once you read those hot scenes, you will need to take a self-stem break.
Happy Reading.

Review of Marked
Welcome to my fucking world. My name is Kaston
Cox and I’m a criminal’s worst nightmare. Most people run from darkness, but I
live in it, require it, and thrive in the night. Some call me a monster, some a
lover of evil, and others, the devil himself, but they’re all wrong. I’m just a
shadow in the dark. I speak for the innocent when no one else will. Once I have
marked you, you better beg for forgiveness, because your time has run out…
Revenge is the ultimate wage for evil. Some
just can’t stomach to do it themselves. That’s where I come in. I am the
ultimate judge when called upon for justice. I will decide who lives and who
dies. Blood may be on my hands, but it’s not the blood of the innocent. Remorse
is nowhere to be found. I don’t give a shit if you understand. I can live with
the man I look at every day in the mirror. My soul was tainted the day I was
conceived. You think you know me? You have no fucking idea. I am who I am
because of what they did to her, and to him. They were my family. This was the
only form of restitution he believed in. I owed him everything. I took over the
empire he built. This is how I repay him. There was only one rule: never allow
emotions to form. Numb and heartless are the only two ways to live.
What I never included in the plan…was her.
My name is Lux Larsen. My life is as perfect as
it can get. I’m a partier, a seductress when it comes to something that I want,
and the ultimate sexual con artist. I use my body to get what I want and I’m
not ashamed. Designer tags are what I’m after. I love sex. I’m good at it. Fuck
double standards. Guys can do it, well guess what, so can I. I will never be
caught back on the other side of the tracks for as long as I live. I left that
hellhole years ago. I’ll do anything to stay away. You can call me a whore if
you want, but I just look at it as I’ve decided to become a player in a man’s
game, and I’m a fucking pro at it. Love is for the weak minded. Weak is
something I’ll never be.
I never anticipated the predator that would
find me. I’m now his prey…but I’m not sure I can run.
The world likes to think that love is only pure, only for those that
do good, but what no one considers is when bad has to be done to formulate a
different type of good. Two of the most random people can be a perfect match,
being placed together like pieces to a puzzle. Being in the wrong place at the
right time can be terrifying and it can also be exactly what is supposed to
happen, because sometimes…love is born in the dark.
Jose pulls the black SUV into
the alley. Dad kept black cars only, because they blended more with the night.
It's dark, the only light coming from above the back door of the
hole-in-the-wall bar a few feet down, not far from the dumpster. "What's
the plan?"
Propping my elbow on the
door, I place my fingers over my mouth as the words exit my mouth. "We
wait."
"We could be here a
while. It's still a while until close."
"This we have time for;
all the fucking time in the world."
I close my eyes, trying to
mentally prepare myself for what I'm about to do. Hesitating in the moment can
get you killed. I still can't figure out why he did it, or why he failed. He
never changed the plan, no matter what the reason. Why this time? I listen to
the silence, allowing my mind to roam. In the depths of nothingness in my mind,
a creaking door opening makes itself known.
I open my eyes to the sick
fucker stumbling out drunk. It's funny, really, how predictable evildoers are.
Of course he's going to use the back door, probably shopping for his next
victim; the innocent people that think the dark is fun. He might have gotten a
few more arousals had he not pissed off the wrong person. He dropped a
bomb...and now it's war.
"Watch my back," I
say, while pulling the black, latex gloves on my hands. I open the door,
stepping out. I stalk toward the end of the alley without making a single
sound, watching him. He stumbles into the dumpster and props himself up on it,
pulling a flask from his suit pocket before pressing it to his lips. Not only
is he a sick bastard, but he's also a fraud, disguising himself as a normal
human being.
My mouth twitches as he tilts
his head back, letting the liquid fire run down his throat. I close my eyes and
envision the scene from three days ago, letting the anger and hatred devour
every cell in my body. I stop in front of him and turn my body, now standing
face to face with my arms by my side.
His heavy eyes scan me.
"You look like shit. Did a bar fight get the best of you? I'm guessing you
were on the losing end." He laughs sadistically.
I tilt my head, a smirk
playing out on the lower half of my face. Looking him in the eyes is like
lighting a trail of gasoline. "I never fucking lose."
He glances at my covered
hands and his eyes slightly widen. "Who the fuck are you?"
"You took something that
was mine, something that I can never get back. For all intents and purposes you
can call me a grim reaper. I'm only here to collect what's due. Hell's gates
are open for you."
He pushes off the dumpster
and stumbles forward, trying to push past me. "Fucking psycho. I don't
have time for this shit."
I grab him by the neck and
squeeze, hard. "Awe.... Trying to leave so soon?" I tick my tongue to
the roof of my mouth. "I don't think so." He grabs my hand, trying to
pry it from his neck, but I'm stronger than him. I walk forward, toward the
back wall of the alley, before slamming him against the brick wall.
"What do you want from
me? How the hell could I take something from you? I don't even know you."
My teeth steel together.
"You may not know me, but you knew someone important to me. In fact, you
were the last person to see him alive, so look into my eyes and see if you can
remember," I growl out. He looks away from me. I pull him back and slam
him into the wall, harder this time. "Fucking look at me!"
He does as I say, studying my
eyes as if he's trying to focus. The alcohol is inhibiting his memory. As if a light switch just got flipped, his
eyes widen further. "I guess your itinerary from three days ago just came
back to you?"
"He tried to kill me. It
was self-defense. What else was I supposed to do? Who the hell was he to
you?"
That's the thing about a
fucking pathological liar. They lie so much they actually believe their own
lies. Sadly for him, I'm not a dumbass. I close in on him, bringing my lips
just outside of his ear as I dig my fingers into the sides of his throat,
wanting like hell to rip it out. He coughs. "He was my fucking father. He
may have tried and failed...this time, but I'm going to finish what he
started. I'm cleaning up the trash on the streets. Your days of raping and
killing innocent women are over. Since I
just had to lay his body in the ground, you're next. Blood for blood."
"He-" I cut off his
words by pressing into his vocal chords.
I pull back and turn him
around, his back against my front. "On your knees."
He tries to beg as he follows
instructions, but all that comes out is a gargled sound. "It doesn't feel
good when you're on the opposite side of the line, does it? If you scream, I'll
have my partner shove something so far up your ass you'll feel it in your
throat, so you can feel what the women you raped felt. If you stay quiet, I'll
make this as painless as possible."
His breathing becomes uneven,
quickening by the second. I cup one hand around the back of his head and the
other on his chin. Adrenaline starts to spread through my body. "You have
about five seconds to say your prayers and hope to God that he forgives the
shit you've done, because if not you're about to bust Hell wide open.
Five...Four..." He whimpers.
"Three...Two...One." I swiftly
twist his neck to the right, snapping his spine in two, just like he does to
the women that have fallen victim to him. His body goes limp as I release him,
letting him fall face first onto the concrete.
Something breaks free inside.
I don't truly understand it, but I feel completely high right now. Maybe it's
knowing that there is one less woman to be hurt in the world, but I feel like
I'm on top of the world; untouchable.
I turn to the SUV and wave
Jose toward me. He nods and steps out of the vehicle, grabbing something from
the back before making his way toward me with a gas can in his hand, setting it
down beside us. Flipping the lid to the dumpster open, we both grab one end of
the body, tossing it inside. Jose grabs the can full of gasoline and starts
pouring it in the dumpster, drenching everything inside.
I pull the small matchbook
from my pocket with Dad's company logo on the front. He used to carry them
around everywhere, stating they were great for business marketing with all of
the smokers out there. The best business is always done over scotch and a cigar
he would say. Opening it, I tear off a matchstick and swipe the red end against
the starter strip. It lights instantly, quickly burning down the wooden stick.
Throwing the match inside the
dumpster, I turn and walk away as the accelerant causes a combustion and
heightens the fire, consuming the entire inner contents of the dumpster. I hear Jose's footsteps behind me as we make
our way back to the SUV. "Rest in peace, Dad," I whisper. "It's
been done."
I grab the door handle and
get in the vehicle at the same time Jose does. "Do you need me to take you
to the airport, boss?"
"No, Jose, you can take
me home. I think I'll stay awhile. There are things that need to be sorted
before I return to the states. Drive. I can't talk right now."
He quickly backs out and
drives at a rapid speed, us both freeing the world from one bad soul. Now, it's
time to find out what's next...
I found books when I was going through a hard time in
life. They became my means of escape when things got bad. I realized quickly
how much I loved to take a backseat to someone else's life and watch the
journey unfold. That began my journey with books in November of 2012. I
constantly had a book open on my Kindle app. Never in a million years would I
have imagined myself as a writer, because I never thought I was creative
enough. I'm living proof that things will fall into place when they're meant to
be. People will make their way into our lives when we don't expect it, setting
the path for what we are meant to do. Never give up on people. Never stop
taking a chance on others. Someone took a chance on trusting me with her work
when she didn't know me from a stranger on the street and gave me the
opportunity of a lifetime as our relationship progressed, which led me to
editing and writing as well. This is my dream I never knew I had. As soon as I
sat down and gave writing a shot, it was like the floodgates opened. Now, I am
lost in a world of fiction in my head, new characters constantly screaming for
their stories to be told. Continue to dream and to go for them. No one ever
found happiness by sitting on the sidelines. Sometimes we have to take risks
and put ourselves out there. Thank you for all of your support, and may there
be many books to come. XOXO- C

Did I enjoy?: It was meh.
Brief review:
I am kind of disappointed with this book. I tried on several occasions to get into this book. I stopped and read another book that was not very good and went back to this book and still could not get into it. I felt like the story took too many turns, too quickly. Now don’t get me wrong, this “not enjoying a book” could be just me because I seriously love this author. I read this one book by her on a fluke and it was Awesome-sauce. But this right here, no Bueno.
I was just not into this book.
I will not read book two in this series but if she has other books, coming out I will definitely read it.
