Owning Her Innocence
by Alexa Riley My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ebookHaley is a young girl who has just became a legal adult. She appears to be a sheltered child, Catholic schoolgirl, who is coming into her age. Her father has raised her on his own with the help of his best friend William. Haley has always had a crush on William. It is evident to all that interact with them. This is also noticed by William. William is an older gentleman who has loved Haley since she was a baby. His love has always been pure. William was her protector and defender. He would take care of her when she was hurt and talk with her about her day and her friends.

Sometime on or after her 16th birthday, William began to view Haley differently. And it was from one simple incident that had him attracted to her. Because of this incident and the respect that he has for his best friend, he has distance himself from them. But William has a plan, which could change everything on Haley’s 18th birthday. If William has his way, Haley will be his and they will have a unique sexual Daddy/daughter relationship. This book open with the most vivid scene. The book in it's entirety was intriguing and tantalizing.

Alexa most definitely writes some smoking' hot scenes. I found them to be quite satisfying and was really shocked that this was her first book. I have never been so satisfied with a short story. The story was complete and sweet,  with some spice. I usually have questions and feel as though the story moves too quickly with short stories. Yet, with Haley and William, it was just the right kind of perfect. Perfect with a side of kink and raw. I really thought I would be uncomfortable with the D/d interest that William has for his best friends daughter. Someone who they have depended and has been a vital extended member of their family.

And now he wants to place his member in the family’s treasure. I was also worried about William wanting a 24-hour role-playing experience and I wondered, what will this poor child think about this request. I worried about Haley and her immaturity level. At times, I wanted to slap Haley. She was often too whiny for me. I understand she just turned 18 and it is expected for her to act very young, sometimes novice.

This truly conveys the "daughter" role, in the story for me. I begin to think, is Haley really immature, just a closet Catholic schoolgirl freak or is she truly sheltered and would be outdone with the request that William is asking for. Alexa gives you the details and has you begging for her next story.

In the end, Alexa eased all my fears. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading her books.

Happy reading.

Hold on Tight

In this new book by Serena Bell, Jake and Mira meet and what was suppose to be one night turn into three weeks of courtship. During one of their last nights together we decide to make love and it was bad. Really bad and I love it. Serena has given us some great books with some real stories.  And bad sex happens and she depicts this so well.

Following the bad sex, Jake leaves for war and Mira ends up pregnant. During the time they are apart Jake advances in his position as an Army Ranger and Mira living with her parents and learned how to take care of her son Sam.

Years later they reconnect due to fate intervening and the spark between them is there, but it’s more like a shock. That leaves both parties speechless.

When Mira sees Jake for the first time in years he is not the strong confidant soon-to-be solider. He is grumpy, agitating war hero who is also an amputee and dealing with decisions he made during war.

When Jake sees Mira for the first time in years she is strong and gorgeous. She is just as he left her and he wants her. Mira is learning to be an independent, single parent, without the assistance of her family and ex-boyfriend.

This is a great Memorial Day read. This books makes you wish in HEA and be proud of our service men and women.

Serena Bell always gives us real life and sometimes the decisions her characters make are not the best. She shows the PTSD that Jake is dealing with and the

Daddy's Game

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Carmen is an artist that is trying to accomplish the goals that she set for her self. One of the goals was to show her work at an art gallery. On the day of the show, she meets Natron. Natron is a professional football player who attends the showing to obtain art, for investment purposes. The gallery director introduces the two and there is an attraction but because of Carmen’s shyness and overall innocence’s she declines Natron’s request to attend an after-party with him and his crew.

Later in the book, like a chapter, they meet again and she goes on a date with him.

Carmen is a little weak, reminds me of a little girl, and appears to have no friends.  If it weren’t for Natron, I think she would continue to be depressed and lonely.

Natron is a freak and likes to be called Daddy, hence the name of the series. Their interactions together were okay. I wanted more out of them. They, in my opinion, did not have very good communication for the D/s relationship that they decided to have. I know, my idea of this relationship only comes from books, but they are are some really detailed books.

Overall the book was okay. I liked the concept but I just could not get into the characters and the scene with the bowl and his seed, Yuck! Seriously, yuck. But the sex scenes are so hot; the fire department should be called.

Whisper to Me

Whisper to Me by Christina  Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kai is like no other. He has just been placed on my top twenty fictional boyfriend list. I must stay that the friendship between Rachel and Kai is great. This book, I would say, can be read as a standalone, because I have not read the other two in this series and I did not feel as though I lost any vital information.

In this book you see how Kai took care of Rachel when she was injured and how he never treated her any different when she could not talk, walk, and required assistance to eat. He was the perfect caretaker.

Once Rachel has healed from her accident she leaves town. She can not be known as the girl that had the brain injury. She wants to be someone new and not the girl whose boyfriend dumped her in recovery. She has to be different, special, wanted and not the same, a freak show, unwanted.

This story allows the reader to have two POV of both main characters throughout the story and it really drew me into the story more. I really enjoyed seeing Kai’s feelings about Rachel and vice versa.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

Happy reading!

Hard Time by Cara McKenna

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It’s not you [the book]. It’s me.

I read, I searched and I did not find the passion or feelings that I had found/read in this authors past books. I know that this is a different book but it is by the same author so I was looking for smut, filth, and orgasms the get me a little wiggly in my seat and want to try at home. What I got was sweet, patience, and two characters making love.

Come on…he is an ex-con who hasn’t had sex in years.

And she is a librarian…Come on… she is all sweet and nice but where are all the clichés, glasses and taking hair down and waving it back and forth to entice him. Really, I wanted her to be a little (kinky/freaky) with her wants in this book.

Okay, now I have to say that the author gave me one time it got spicy (with the mirror) but that was it.

They meet in prison, he has not had sex. She is coming from a bad relationship and is horny. The story is there; well my smutty ideas, it is there.

For the story in general, it was good. The characters all flowed well. The temperament of the characters, again good. This is why I gave it three stars, but with this author, this book, this storyline, all I thought about was some very wiggly (may try you later scenes) that I did not get.

This review is short and sweet because, it is easy for me to get carried away and write about stuff that you will really enjoy in this book and though I like spoilers, I don’t give them. (Unless you ask for it!)

Well as always, Happy Reading.

I received this ARC by NetGalley for an honest review.
