Elect

Elect (Eagle Elite, #2)Elect by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis:
Would you die for the one you love?
Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner.

Nixon has made a choice. He can not be in a relationship (publicly) with Trace. He loves her but must let her go to ensure her safety and solve the mystery effecting the mob families.

Trace loves Nix but because he can’t be with her. Being the head of the family, he forces her to be in a relationship with Chase. This makes Trace confused. She loves Nix but being pushed to Chase forces her to acknowledge feels for Chase. She loves them both (Nix and Chase). Who should she be with?

Chase loves Trace. He knows that she is confused about her feelings for him. He wants her. But doesn’t know how to get her.
Chase has been there for Trace from the beginning. This is a defining part of her love for him.

All the relationships will be challenged and secrets will be exposed. Friendships will be challenged and truces will be broken.

I was awestruck by this book. I was so profoundly shocked with the story and it’s development. Rachel Van Dyke has not failed me with this series. It appears there will be other books in this series and I am so eager to read them.

The characters are so strong and determined. There were moments I laughed, cried, and wanted to throw my iPad.

Must read!
