This Man

This Man (This Man, #1)This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

NetGalley has provided this ARC for a honest review.

Synopsis:
Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward--a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.

Characters:

Ava O’Shea:
Is young, vibrant, and ready to date after a failed relationship. She is eager to advance in her profession; build her client base. She is determined. Then she meets this Adonis and is eager to advance with him. Only as much as she wants him is as many times she runs away from him.

Jesse Ward:
Entrepreneur. Adonis. Dominate. The ultimate player. Determine. Passionate and so extra talented in the bedroom. Ms. O’Shea has thrown Jesse for a loop. He is so protective and has sent claim to her.

Jesse is so enamored with Ava that he seeks her out on several occasions. During their first encounter at The Manor his attractiveness makes Ava sweat and have many naughty thoughts about Sir Adonis. After their initial meeting Ava returns to The Manor to obtain measurements for the rooms and she is lead into a room where Jesse is half dressed and were he makes a pass at her.
Her body fails her and she succumbs to the pass he makes but is rudely interrupted by the manager of The Manor Sarah.

This scene has some steam present that the reader may need to take a breather and regroup.

‘Are you okay?’ (Jesse)
‘Funnily enough, no, I’m not. Why did you do that?’ (Ava)
‘Isn’t it obvious?’ (Jesse)
‘You want me,’ (Ava)
‘More than anything,’ (Jesse)
‘What? I’ve never met anyone so full of themselves. Did you plan this? When you rang me yesterday, was this your intention all along?’ (Ava)
‘Yes, I want you.’ (Jesse)

Throughout the book Jesse expresses his need for Ava.

Ava expresses her concern with his need.

There is a definite struggle in their relationship and there will be people who will try to prevent their relationship.

Will Jesse convince Ava to given their sexual attraction a chance? Will Ava escape Jesse?

I must say I love all things British!  There were several hot scenes in this book that I had to fan myself.

On a side note: I absolutely loved Kate, lol! She is so Posh-ish lol!

This book is a fabulous story. The series is a must. I truly love the idea of this story and the development.
