Beneath This Man

Beneath This Man (This Man, #2)Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ARC provided by NetGalley.

Synopsis:
Jesse Ward drowned her with his intensity and blindsided her with his passion, but he kept her away from his dark secrets and broken soul. Leaving him was the only way Ava O'Shea could survive. She should have known that Jesse Ward is impossible to escape--and now he's back in her life, determined to remind her of the sensual pleasures they had shared. Ava is equally determined to get at the truth beneath this man's steely exterior. That means letting herself get close to the Lord of the Manor once more. And it's exactly where Jesse wants her--within touching distance.

Ava has been away from Jesse for five days and she is miserable. She is barely functioning with his warmth and dominance missing. Ava left Jesse because his behavior was new to her and he loved her with such passion that she was unable to accept that this was normal.
Jesse has Ava see the world differently and expand her sexual interest.

Jesse has not been well with Ava’s absences; He is a desperate man, he needs his love back. Jesse is in solitude and is unreachable. His friends are concern with his behavior and ask Ava for her assistance to get into Lusso.

Ava goes to Lusso and sees Jesse. Once she sees his destitution she cannot leave him but she must be stronger this time in their relationship.

In this story we are introduced to a changed Ava. She is stronger and is learning to handle Jesse. We also learn about many secrets and how life is unfair. The passion between Jesse and Ave grows and is so intense that you will be panting and fanning yourself.

Jesse remains Dominate in this book but some of his weaknesses are displayed and this provides more insight into Jesse.

In book one we really do not learn that much about Jesse but in this book, it expands to a whole new level.

I did like this book better than the last one.

I feel like I'm getting to understand Mr. Ward a little bit better and I like him.
